Sandra Kacher Profile

My therapy practice is about helping people bridge the gaps-the gap between body and mind, between husband wife, parent and child or friend and friend, between desire and actuality, between who I am to myself and who I am to others, and between what is and what wants to be.

Bridging the gap sometimes means finding the gap, that is, finding the what, why and how the rupture, split or breakdown occurs. Bridging the gap sometimes means going into the place where confusion, uncertainty and ignorance tell us that we’ve reached the end of the line with the old ways and we need to sit with not knowing until something new arises. Bridging the gap usually involves a leap

Sandra Kacher– risking new awareness, new possibilities and new behaviors. Bridging the gap means we move from dead end to new trailhead.

If this seems all very well and lovely, but just a tad abstract, let me assure you that I am a very practical, active and collaborative therapist and I know how to help people move out of their heads and into action. To do that I utilize a variety of learnings from my academic training as a clinical social worker, my nearly 25 years as a psychotherapist, advanced training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, advanced training in Internal Family Systems, years of meditation practice and a life embedded in marriage, family and community.
